The Lapland Jazzband

Kew Wind Orchestra is delighted to be ending the year with its annual festive jazz spectacular. KWO will be joined this year by the wonderful singer Melanie Marshall.

Melanie is frequently hailed as one of this country's most versatile artists. Her style encompasses jazz, opera, oratorio, musical theatre and cabaret and she has performed and recorded in Britain and abroad with such noted conductors as Sir Simon Rattle, Carl Davis, Libor Pesek, Kent Nagano, Trevor Pinnock, Ivor Bolton and orchestras including the Philharmonia, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, The London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic and all the BBC orchestras.

KWO will also be performing a selection of classic jazz such as Brubeck's "Blue Rondo a la Turk", Bernstein's "Prelude, Fugues and Riffs" and Prima's "Sing, Sing, Sing" as well as a sprinkle of Christmas favourites.

KWO start the sunny period with a concert showcasing their future NCBF competition pieces including Dominic Muldowney's 'Dance Suite' and Frank Tichelli's 'Vesuvius'. Be sure to stick around for the second half when KWO show their lighter side with fantastic Disney renditions and Jazz classics that will have you smiling until your jaw aches!
